Message from Jim Doty, Publications Coordinator... The Touchline's mission is to be the best source of positive, instructive and encouraging information about AYSO Region 60's program. Our goal is to publish an issue on each Saturday of the regular season, excepting weekends without scheduled games. The purpose of the Touchline is to: * give parents and players the information they want (such as team standings), * give parents and players information the organization wants them to have, and * give recognition to volunteers and sponsors. The Touchline encourages contributions of text and photos from players, parents, and volunteers. Preferred photos are consistent with AYSO policy, tell a story, show action, are sharp and clear, and are suitable for viewing at 4"x3". Preferred stories are consistent with AYSO policy, are of general interest, and are no more than 250 words. Submission of material to the Touchline will be taken as permission to use the material in its original form or edited and in any format or medium (newsletter, yearbook, website, etc.) at the sole discretion of the Touchline editor. Content may be edited at the editor's sole discretion. Reasons for editing may include but are not limited to the following: to improve communication, to fit the material within space limitations or to improve the material's conformance with the Touchline's mission and goals. Similarly, photos may be cropped or otherwise adjusted (color,contrast, etc.) to meet the needs of the Touchline. Attributions will be provided for contributed material in most cases. Exceptions may be made when the actual source of the material is unclear. Don't worry if you are not a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer or photojournalist. Just give us the basics: who, what, why, where, when and how. The sooner you get it to us, the more likely it will be used, but don't worry about deadlines: any time will do. If you don't get the film developed this week, give us your photos next week. If the snapshot is from this season, we want it. Material received by Thanksgiving may be used in the Annual. Every team has at least one parent with a camera. Just ask them to make an extra set of prints for the Touchline or the annual. You can write your good news on anything handy. Just as long as the message is legible and not covered with nacho cheese or donut glaze (those get eaten by the cat).
