VOLUNTEER REFEREES NEEDED
It’s rewarding, fun, and our kids need YOU!
We are now recruiting volunteer referees. Please visit eAYSO and pre-register as a volunteer, be sure to follow the instructions carefully. After you register, print out two copies of the form and submit them to Vivian Suarez, Child & Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA), at any Region 60 sponsored event, for ID verification.

WHISTLE BLOWER REVEALS NEW REFS!
Please join me in congratulating Region 60’s newest Referees:
| Ruben Chavez | Jorge Garcia |
| Leticia Peralta | Tony Ramos | George Shafer | Adrianna Torres |
| David Torres |
All of these great volunteers attended Region 60’s Basic Referee training course on Sunday, 9/26, and passed the AYSO Basic Referee Exam.Lina Osterman deserves special consideration for sitting through the entire 8-hour day, including passing the test, even though she passed the class last year. And one more thank you goes to Nestor Serrano and Steve Shahin for helping to teach the class; and to Sally Serrano for bringing lunch.
Referees are a critical part of the AYSO team, along with parents and coaches, who make it possible for all of our kids to enjoy Soccer in a FUN, FAIR, and SAFE environment.
We couldn’t have games without referees, so please congratulate and thank not only Adrianna, David, George, Jorge, Letty, Lina, Ruben, and Tony; but all ofour referees, for donating their time for our kids.
The same goes for all of our volunteers. We couldn’t do it without you. We couldn’t teach our kids about the most beautiful game in the world. We couldn’t teach them the value of always striving to do your best, about working hard and playing hard no matter the score; and above all, about having fun!
So, thank you, each and every one of you. You’re the best.
JOGA BONITO!

TABLE OF CONTENTS
Online Training
AYSO Basic Referee Online Training is an attractive alternative to taking the complete Basic Referee Course in-person. This training enables prospective referees to learn the majority of material in the Basic Referee Course at their own pace using computer-based instruction.
Online training is available at www.aysotraining.org.
You will need to know your eAYSO ID number. If you do not know your eAYSO ID number, please contact Dave Jones via email at Region60RRA@yahoo.com and he will be happy to look it up for you.
This course still requires some classroom time, and volunteers must pass the test to earn their certification. Region 60 will be holding another classroom session on Sunday, 10/23.
The Basic Referee Online Companion Course
will be held from 9am to 1pm on Sunday 10/23
in the Community Room at Monterey Park City Hall
320 W. Newmark Ave.
(Monterey Park City Hall is on the corner of Newmark and Ramona,
one block west of Garvey Ave.)
Our instructor will be the highly esteemed Frank Bagheri from Glendale region 88.
YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE COURSE BEFORE THE CLASSROOM TRAINING.
So, please go to the online training website and take the Basic Referee Online Training course. It should take about 90 minutes. That's 1 1/2 hours that will save about 4 hours of classroom time.
